En octubre de 2019, se envió a los profesores de nuestro centro un cuestionario Google Docs con preguntas ligadas a los puntos de observación que pretendemos analizar en el centro escocés.

Take a look at what the school planner at Holyrood School looks like!

On Wednesday the 2nd, after spending the morning and part of the afternoon at the school, we went to the centre of Glasgow to follow the Graffiti trail. We saw some fantastic pieces of urban ART.

OUR VISIT TO THE ART CLASSES

During our visit to Holyrood Secondary School, we have had  the opportunity to meet and chat to the teachers in the Art Department. They have been really nice and we have some ideas going about the project we could work on together. We have seen the wonderful work their students produce and  we are eager to show them the fantastic work our students work on

Wednesday experiences

In our second day at the school, we have gone through two main sessions.

After an introductory period with a group of dutch teachers who were being introduced to the internacional program that is being implemented at the school, the Home Economics departamentos has prepared a homemade scottish Lunch for all visitors. Pupils have cooked typical scottish dishes and desserts, and served them in a ver professional way. All of us have been very impressed by the quality of the food, as well as the by charming service.

In a later meetings with one of the school Head Teachers (Jefes de estudios), we have received detailed information about how the school is run on a daily basis, focusing on the main values all students must strive to follow, how to motivate the whole staff to conform to them, as well as the detailed plan the school is applying to achieve its objectives.

Many of their proposals and points of view are different to our own, but we have identified severa which could be applied in our own school.

First day in Holirood Secondary school.

Today we have started our jobshadowing experience.

It has been a very good experience,first of all our colleagues from Glasgow have welcomed us and a bit later a group from Spanish class has taken us on a tour around the school.

We have visited different departments,music,history,art...

After that, we have had sometime tomtalk to different teachers in the art department.

Hoy vamos al Holly Rood Secondary School. Estamos impacientes por conocer el centro y aprender muchas cosas.

¿Sabíais que Escocía fue el primer país que disfrutó de un sistema de enseñanza pública allá por el siglo XVI? Y no sólo eso, a mediados del s. XVII ya era obligatoria. Algo Impensable en otros lugares.
